Founded in 1989, Starway Furniture has evolved into a modern enterprise integrating research, design, manufacturing, and sales, with product lines spanning plastic, wooden, and upholstered furniture.
Throughout its 30-year journey in the furniture industry, Starway has transformed from a small factory producing office chair casters into an international enterprise. For over three decades, Starway has maintained its philosophy of “creating sitting spaces rather than mere chairs”, consistently pushing the boundaries of seating design through innovative styles, material selection, and manufacturing techniques to deliver superior comfort to users.
Starting in 1989 with a focus on office chair casters, Starway recognized the limitations of a single-product strategy. In 1991, the company successfully pivoted to producing office chairs using leather and foam materials. This first transformation proved highly successful, with Starway office chairs becoming an internationally recognized furniture brand.
Since 2009, Starway has recruited renowned designers from Spain, Italy, Malaysia, and China Taiwan as design directors and consultants. The company also collaborates with prestigious institutions like China Academy of Art and Central Academy of Fine Arts to nature its house design team.
In 2010, Chairman Genlin Ye personality designed the Patchwork Chair, featuring a distinctive fabric patchwork design that has become an industry classic and continues to be poplar, with monthly production reaching 100,000 units.

With a team of over 700 professionals working across product design, mold manufacturing, and production processes, Starway strategically focuses on original design in the seating category. Starway currently offers nine major series with nearly 2,000 products under three brands: “Starway”, “Adonis” and “Ooland”, and has received numerous awards at domestic and international furniture exhibitions, including the Canton Fair CF Award for Export Product Design for ten consecutive years.

In Europe, the brands “Donise” and “Ooland” of Starway, which were developed through the company’s ltalian Design Center, have introduced purely original designs that have reshaped European perceptions of contemporary Chinese enterprises.

The development of the Coffee Chair, which involved an R&D investment of 2 million yuan, turned coffee waste into a highly popular item. This dedication to innovation paid off. In 2022, the year of its launch, orders surpassed 40,000 units, and more than 40 tons of coffee grounds were repurposed.
Beyond the Coffee Chair, Starway continues to pioneer sustainable initiatives. A notable example is the company’s “Carbon Neutrality” research project in partnership with Tongji University, focusing on developing new materials and technologies. Regarding future development, International Marketing Manager LingYi Huang emphasizes Starway’s strategy of combining European advanced manufacturing techniques and management philosophies with Chinese advantages in production costs, distribution networks, and logistics. “We aim to develop products of higher quality, which have stronger competitive advantages and international brand appeal, so as to serve global markets.”
